It's that time of year again when health issues that we generally call "Youngbird Sickness" becomes a major problem for many lofts. Youngbird Sickness is a name we have given to a series of health problems that seem to surface in North American lofts between late May and early August. Sometimes it is Adenovirus based, more often it is Circovirus based. At other times, it is not associated with a virus at all but is brought about by a combination of fungal and bacterial strains that knock our birds out of health. In any case, these so called Youngbird Sickness illnesses do sometimes leads to a string of deaths in the flock.

In response to inquiries from fanciers, I have for several years been supplying a product that helps when many medications and antibiotics fail to clear up the situation. This year, I am using the same formula as in years past with the inclusion of several new ingredients which I believe will improve the outcomes for most faciers.

Already this year we have seen good results in a one loft race when all other treatments seemed to fail. There were the usual symptoms: birds holding water or feed in the crops, going light, watery droppings, birds that are healthy looking and then die within a couple of days, etc. This loft tried a host of medications and antibiotics, but as soon as they took the birds off the treatments, the symptoms returned. After about five weeks of this, they started using our Vira Max product and this seems to have fixed the problem. They even had one bird that was one day away from dying (based on their experience with this sickness in their loft) and that bird was looking better after the first day of using our Vira Max product.

I cannot guarantee you will get the same results, who can? Most of the time we do not even know what combination of health issues we are dealing with when we treat the birds. I can say that I have a product that is not based on the use of medications nor antibiotics, and this product has helped restore health in many of the lofts that have tried it.
