I think what you are saying is how to treat respiratory and catarrh? This is a very hard question to answer without much more information. I do not sell medications or antibiotics only my own preventative products. Also, I do not know what medications you might have available to you in Malta. If you have these products available, mix two teaspoons of either [aureomycin or tetracylcine or doxcycline] with one teaspoon of Tylan in one gallon of drinking water and repeat this treatment for 5 days. Be sure and remove the grit from the loft during this treatment.

While you are working on getting the right medications to treat your problem try this: Put three regular size cloves of Garlic (or one clove of elephant garlic) in one quart of water, and puree in a blender until you cannot see garlic pieces any more just little particles floating in the water, add two tablespoons of honey and the juice from 1/2 a lemon. Pour this Mixture into a one gallon jug and fill the jug with fresh water, then immediately give this mixture to the birds as their drinking water. The antibiotic properties of garlic weaken over time, so it is best to make this mixture immediately before giving to the birds. The next day give plain water. Do this every other day always making a fresh mixture of garlic, honey and lemon, until the birds get better or you can start them on the tylan mixture. Max Immune Plus, Show Stopper and Super Creatine Plus, are what I call my bread and butter products. These three are the foundation for a successful race season and a successful breeding season. They address the health needs and performance needs of your birds. If nothing else, get these three products and you will see success in your loft.

The V/M Booster and Super B are supplements and you should use these or some other vita-mineral products, throughout the year to make sure your birds have all the necessary building blocks for their bodies to grow and reach peak health and well being. The Power Drops, are a unique nutritional supplement / antimicrobial that has many useful functions during racing season and when birds are sick.

My answer to your question then, is you are not over doing it using these products as they are all useful at different times throughout the breeding and racing seasons. I would love to give you a simple answer, but everyone lives in different climates, has different race courses and prefers to race at different distances. Having said that, I will give you my general answer to your question.

Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper are my "bread and butter" health products. They are the basis of any program as success in racing depends upon healthy pigeons. For the size of your race teams, I recommend a single sized Max Immune Plus and a Double sized Show Stopper. Finally, for health I recommend a bottle of Power Drops. You use Power Drops on individual birds that seem off form or show signs of sickness, you use Power Drops on the feed the last meal before shipping the long hard races, you may use Power Drops to moisten the feed when you are using Show Stopper (do this at least once every other week).

For performance, I normally recommend Super Creatine Plus and Muscle Max. However, another product I developed this year Muscle Powder, might be more cost effective for your small teams, The answer to that question might require us talking on the phone about your race course and the temperatures your birds have to fly in, However, as an exersize to come up with a cost for you, I will calculate the cost using a container of Muscle Powder. George, A good question that should be addressed as the breeding season approaches. I make those pills by hand and though I do have a machine that helps me, it is a lot of time and backache to produce the pills. This past year, I have introduced Power Drops and they seem to be a real success. I am considering discontinuing the No Light Green and Yellow Pills and suggesting the Power Drops for individual treatment of sick birds in the loft. That should work for most but will not be as good an option for the Baby Booster pills. For Baby Booster Pills, you can get the same results by making a slurry out of the Max Immune Plus and using an eye dropper to give the 6 - 10 day old babies an immuno-boost.

Hello Garett, Five Star is the strongest of my products. Usually, Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper are all one needs to maintain top health in the loft. I do have customers that give Five Star to the breeders when there are youngsters in the nest. What you would want to watch for is how the babies under two weeks old respond to the product. The ones dependent on their parents especially those receiving pigeon milk, would be the ones to watch closely. If they have no problems with it, then continue giving as you wish. One of my customers had told me he experiences no problem but he mixes as recommended (1/2 Five Star and 1/2 Show Stopper)." Might I suggest, that since you have a year's experience with our products, that you try to depend a little less on the medications this year. You might find that my products (Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper) are very good at controlling your problems. Next time you order, ask for the Five Star product. Mixing Five Star with Show Stopper once every three weeks, will alleviate your concerns about cocci and canker meds.

I have no product that specifically treats respiratory, as I find respiratory to be mainly a secondary infection, that is, it usually becomes a problem as a result of another infection weakening the immune response. My defense against respiratory is to keep your birds healthy, through the use of Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper. When the pathogenic populations are kept in check, there is little opportunity for respiratory infection. However, I know that weather conditions, breezes, heavy rains, and drafty shipping crates, can weaken the bird's defenses, even when the best health products are being used.

Not knowing where you live or under what conditions you fly, I have no problem with you using Docy-T, should you feel the need to do so. Fortunately, my Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper products, each contain my Bio-Fresh probiotic blend, which is what you need to follow any course of medications or antibiotics. Most fanciers have six days between the end of the race and the next shipping day. I do recommend giving Show Stopper on the fifth day after the race, and I do recommend giving the Super Creatine Plus and Muscle Max on the day before the day of shipping. So, this means Show Stopper, Super Creatine Plus and Muscle Max would all be given on the same day. The Power Drops are given on the last meal before shipping, which is usually the next day (the sixth day).

Sometimes, if the races are long distance races, then the club ships one day early (on day five instead of day six) and the birds spend one extra day on the truck. In that situation, you would give the Power Drops on day five also. Show Stopper on the morning meal and Power Drops on the meal before basketing. Or, you could give Power Drops with the Show Stopper on the morning meal and not later in the day. This is not rocket science, there is flexibility in how and when you use the products.

When there are six days between the last race and the day of shipping, many fanciers choose to give Super Creatine Plus and Muscle Max on the day of shipping but pull them out and replace with fresh clean water about four hours before taking the birds to the clubhouse. This four hours of fresh clean water allows the birds to normalize their water intake. On races where the birds spend an extra day on the truck, you can give Super Creatine Plus and Muscle Max right up until you basket for the club house, as they will have an extra day on the truck to normalize their water intake. My health program is fairly simple, the weekly usage of Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper. This has shown to be very sucessful in avoiding Youngbird sickness, in your loft. Additionally, you may use our Five Star product as needed to give an extra boost to your birds' defenses.

If you are mixing your youngbirds with other fancier's birds and as you state, YB sickness is making the rounds in your area, then along with the regular weekly use of Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper, give Five Star one day a week. The product you are asking about is called Acidified Copper Sulfate. It is used by dairy and poultry owners, you should be able to find it at any farmers supply store or feed store. I do not carry that product nor do I carry any products for external parasites. You can also use 20 Muke Team Borax (found with laundry soap at the store), use about 2 Tbs per three gallons of bath water, every week and that will do the trick. A friend uses a splash of Malt Vinegar in her bird's bath water.

If you do use the Acidified Copper Sulfate, be careful as you can overdose the birds with this product. At the strength we get here in the states from the feed store, it is 1/4 tsp per gallon of drinking water for internal usage with the birds. I suppose that bath water could be a little stronger than that but the birds do drink a little during a bath so do not use to much. Gene, The ViraMax product was re-formulated and improved. It is now called Five Star. I am glad to hear that the Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper products are able to keep your birds healthy and that you have only found the need to use ViraMax occassionally. Yes, you may use Super Creatine Plus on the same days as you use Max Immune Plus and Show Stopper. I do not recommend using Super Creatine Plus on the feed, as I think that releases to much of the active ingredients, all at one time. This can results in droppings getting soft for several hours afterwards as the bird's systems try and flush some of the excess ingredients out of their system. If you decide to give Super Creatine Plus on the feed, try giving it half on the morning feeding and half on the evening feeding.

I believe that Super Creatine Plus is best delivered in the Water where the birds can drink it over several hours. When administering Super Creatine Plus in the water, it is best not to mix it with any other ingredients that are highly acidic (apple cider vinegar, vitamin C, lemon juice, acorbic acid, acidic acid, lactic acid, etc. Our Super Creatine Plus product is micro-encapsulated which allows substantially more of the active ingredients to be taken up into the blood stream and delivered to the cells where they stored for use during the race. Highly acidic ingredients mixed with our Super Creatine Plus product would slightly degrade the protective mechanism and dilute the amount actually stored by the cells. It is best to give Super Creatine Plus without the addition of any acidic additives.

Super Creatine Plus is a blend of over 20 ingredients all of which allow your birds to perform at their top capabilities on race day. I prefer that you give it alone or with Max Immune Plus (or Show Stopper as outlined above) and try not to mix it with any other products that are highly acidic. Of course, you may also give Super Creatine Plus to your breeder (at 1/2 dose twice a week) starting a few weeks before breeding season and continue until the last youngsters are out of the nest. You will find old breeders start fertiling their eggs, the hens do not wear down when they get to their third rounds, and the youngsters mature faster and have better feathering and muscle structure.

I would not use tap water unless it had set, with the lid off the container, for some time so that any bleach residuals from the water treatment plant can evaporate off. He puts Show Stopper in the water and the Power Drops in the water. A while back, I changed a supplier for two of my ingredients and the result was that the new supplier ground the ingredients to a fine powder while the old supplier sent a more granular product.

I had told people to put Show Stopper on the feed, mainly because these granular ingredients tended to sink to the bottom of a waterer. It seems now, that this is no longer a problem, so I am recommending now that you can use Show Stopper in the water, if you like.

However, you will need to shake the gallon jug vigorously, to get all the ingredients to disperse in the water, as one ingredient wants to float if not dispersed completely. None the less, this is good news.

This same customer said that he also puts the Power Drops in the water one day a week. It does seem to float a bit on the surface and the feathers next to the wattle seem to darken for a few days, but he likes the simpliness of delivering the Power Drops in the water and you might also consider it if you do not like putting it on the feed." What can be wrong with Brewers Yeast? Nothing that I know, however, I do have ample sources of B vitamins, amino acids and minerals in my products so all of the benefit is already present. However, yes go ahead and use the Brewers Yeast and notice for yourself if it gives any additional benefit to the birds. It could be especially useful in the off season when fanciers normally cut back from two meals a week with Show Stopper to one meal a week with Show Stopper. At that time of year, the addition of Brewers Yeast would fit nicely. So, if any of your sections are on Show Stopper one day a week, that is the best place to start using the Brewers Yeast.

One thing to watch for is if the dropping seem less firm after the addition of the Brewers yeast, that would be a sign that the birds are possibly getting to much supplementation and the body tries to flush off any excess vitamin B (water soluble) by pushing it out into the gastrointestinal tract.

By the way, I can learn and learn from my customers. Some use my products slightly differently than I suggest and get good results, some use other products that do not clash with mine. Normally though, the best results are obtained by using the simple schedule of use for my products and then after you are familiar with and approve of the results, go ahead if you feel the need and add something and see if it improves your loft health.
